Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Roundtable

NEOEDD is organizing a series of roundtable discussions for NE Oregon nonprofit leaders about the value of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). Roundtables will be held Oct. 25 and Dec. 6, 2017; Feb. 7, May 2, Aug. 1, and Nov. 7, 2018; and Feb. 6, 2019.

There are many reasons why organizations benefit from becoming more intentional about addressing the equity and inclusion within their programs, leadership and staff. Nonprofit organizations become stronger when the people they serve share in decision-making and planning roles. And as organizations with a responsibility to provide public benefit, nonprofits have a role in preventing discrimination and making services accessible to all. Bringing the skills of people from many segments of our rural communities into the leadership work of our organizations can help us prevent discrimination, build understanding and strengthen our mission impact.

NEOEDD's goal is to bring together staff and board members who have an interest in learning more about DEI and are willing to share their experiences, both positive and negative, with the goal of increasing diversity, equity and inclusion within the organizations they serve.

The first two roundtables will be held in La Grande from 10 a.m. and 2 p.m., and will include a catered lunch. Participants will be asked for input about the location of future roundtables, which could take place in Baker, Wallowa or Union counties.

The cost to attend will be $25 per person per roundtable discussion; those who commit to register in advance for the entire series of 7 roundtable discussions pay $125. Registration info TBA
